    Hi JajaD,

You probably will not be able get a grant as all grants for postgrads have been cut. For those who would have previously qualified for the highest rate of grant, there is still an option to have your fees covered, but no maintenance. There is also a one-off payment option for those who would've been on lower rates.

But as you have already done a masters it's unlikely you'd be able to get any rate of grant, as they are given on the basis that you are progressing upwards in level (masters to PDE is seen as downwards - or equal, not sure).

There is more info here: http://www.studentfinance.ie/mp9543/postgraduate-students/index.html

Someone from studentfinance.ie or from PAC might be able to check for certain for you if you can't find the info there. Best of luck!

The PDE is now a level 8 course so as far as I know you'll get no financial help as you're not progressing in levels.

    Hi,
    Wondering if anyone could confirm.
I am applying for the ppd course this year. Have a honours degree and a masters. I will be hopefully leaving employment before starting if accepted.
Will i not be eligible for anything.?
BTEA or mature student grant?. Have a morgage so it would be hard to do the course and not get anything at all.
Checked citizens info site and its to hard to figure out.
    any info would help. Thanks

In what year did you complete your masters, DW2014?

You could get back to education depending on how long you've been on jobseekers.

Figured as much.. I dont know if it is bending the rules but during the holidays i wonder if you can claim social welfare because you are available for work during thr day at these times?
    Clutching at straws i think.
