Anyone been to the student counselling in trinity? Just wondering if people found it helpful/worthwhile?

I've been, I found it extremely helpful, everyone I met in there was very kind, understanding and respectful. Everything is kept completely anonymous. I couldn't praise it higher; if you're struggling with any sort of personal problem at all I'd highly recommend getting in touch. I'm not sure I'd have made it through the last year without it!

Rest assured everything is above board and professional. It's an invaluable service so be sure to use it :)

I had a student counsellor and I was never really comfortable with her. Felt like she was going through her list of questions and didn't actually listen to me a few times. Asked the same question twice, twice!!

It's a very good service though and others have praised it.

That's a little disappointing. At least the student counsellors tend to ask if they can record the session so that their approach can be examined by someone more senior and they can get even better at what they do. Just to say: if you do feel uncomfortable with a particular counsellor, you can request to change to another.

Yeah, I know you can change.

Ah, I know we all have to start somewhere (I go on placement myself) but I never got comfortable. Only went twice infairness. Anyways, she's not there any more so if I go back it'll be someone different :)
