    Hi guys,

Iv got a flight to Oz soon first part with aer lingus second part with malaysia airlines. Im able to check in with the malaysia airlines part now if I want but cant check in with aer lingus as I didnt book directly with them.
I was wondering would it be possible to just not check in with malaysia airlines and do it all with aer lingus when I check in at the airport and get all my boarding cards then? Its just it seems weird to check in for my second flight but not my first!

    Thanks

not weird, you are booked with malaysia and they codeshare part of the route with aer lingus, you are not booked with aerlingus so can't check in online with them, yes check in at the airport (at the desk not at the self service machines even if a helper tries to tell you otherwise) you should receive all your boarding cards at check in and your bags will go straight through as well to final destination

Aer Lingus handle their own check-in in Dublin. Hence why you need to do separate check-ins if online.

If the booking was issued on the same e-tix your luggage should be transferred through. It would be better to check-in though online for your long haul flight even if you can't so for DUB-LHR, as EI may not have access to the Malaysian Airlines seatmap meaning if you have reserved a seat in advance you could be moved and given a different seat at the gate.

    Happy flying!

Thanks guys, I will just check in everything at the airport!
My ticket was booked with expedia and it specifies my seat number for the malaysian airlines part so Il just make sure aer lingus are aware of this when they are checking me in so hopefully there wont be a problem there.

Just a small point - I don't think you will get your Malaysian boarding cards in Ireland. As far as I know, Aer Lingus wont have access to their system. I could be wrong though.

Your bags will be checked through. But I would say that you will have to go to a transfer desk to get the cards

    Have fun !!

I think if its all on one ticket I should get the boarding cards all together though? Iv done trips with aer lingus and china airlines and got all my boarding passes at the aer lingus check in i think.

Maybe I will contact aer lingus to make sure! Thanks
