This is just a stab in the dark, but I'd be getting a non oem mirror as you'll probably need a different control module and an external sensor and all sorts to make it work. Possibly even a different windscreen

On my Bora the auto-dim wiper also had the sensor for auto wipers and needed a different windscreen, don't know if VW have changed the design since.

I really wanted something OEM looking, I thought it would have the sensor built into the mirror housing.. anyone know what other bits I could salvage off this GTI (apart from the badge :pac: ) I have the brakes already, would the suspension bits be worth getting ? shocks etc they will all swap over, my own yoke has 150k miles on it now so want to get some parts with a view to replacing down the line.

have to say I've never had one, but can't afford a new car so might as well try and make this one a little different!

The seats would be the best upgrade after the brakes.Suspension components may not be a straight swap.

Fair enough but I'd be sticking with the standard mirror there a pain in the arse if you're reversing toward a car with it's lights on or similar. If you're reversing out of a space with a car waiting behind you hit a point where you can see jack **** and rely on the gods not to hit anything maybe it's just me though :D

Seat's are gone, steering wheel gone, pedals also gone.

apparently the exhaust will go straight over, just need new tips.
