Feedback on Scott bikes

Just wondering if there are any owners of Scott road bikes on boards? If so how do you find them? How are they for comfort/stiffness, value for money, reliability?

Hadn't thought about them until I looked at the CR1 Pro in a shop yesterday and was fairly impressed with the level of design gone into the frame.
I had discounted them as I thought they were always very expensive for what they are.
I can get the Cr1 PRO with Ultegra and ksyrium elite wheels for 3k or I am looking at the planet X RT-57 with SRAM force for 2k or RED for 2.5k

    Any thoughts?

No contest Scott just build better bikes fact, more design features on frame , and a pair of elites to go with it , if the budget can make it go for the Scott

I had an Addict for a while. It was fast and fun, until I smashed it up.

    I'd happily buy another.

I've a Scott, it's a great bike. Even thought its 4 years old people still pick it up and are amazed at the weight. And I discovered yesterday that there is decent mudguard clearance, easily sufficient to take crud roadracers.

Only down side has been a broken mech hanger which wrecked the rear derailleur and a spoke.

I got a new Scott Addict R1 (2008) in Feb of this year (if that makes sense... it was old stock on sale).

    I am still smitten!

I've had a Scott Addict for the past two years, one of the other guys in our group rides a team issue foil - fantastic piece of kit.

Do you know how the Foil compares with the Addict?

I've read a few reviews but none done on Irish roads.

The Foil and Addict are very similar. Stiff but still ride great on Irish roads.
I'd recommend going with an Addict if you can get one. The ride quality is so close and the Foil has the custom seatpost which will restrict options.

Lumen - I believe there was a review of the Foil in last months pro cycling (the one previewing the Vuelta). The test ride was undertaken in the UK and was very positive.

I have an Addict and Scott Scale myself and still really enjoy riding them after a couple of years. The addict is really comfortable and in no way harsh even on rough roads. All Scott products that I have trued have been extremely well made and are top quality.

Well, I took mine down to Wexford last year with 50mm carbon rims on it and did 80km on those chip and tar roads. My undercarriage was almost bleeding at the end of it.

This proves only that I should avoid the country.
