JSB with Rent supplement?

Hi there, I lost my job and went for a claim to my local office. My problem is that if I qualify for 188 it won't exactly cover my rent. I live in shared rented accommodation (no spouse and no parental income to supplement me) and have the rental supplement form but I don't know what to do or how long the rental supplement…

Hi there, I lost my job and went for a claim to my local office.

My problem is that if I qualify for 188 it won't exactly cover my rent.

I live in shared rented accommodation (no spouse and no parental income to supplement me) and have the rental supplement form but I don't know what to do or how long the rental supplement is going to take when I submit the form. I have enough on my last wages to pay it, but if it exceeds this timeframe I will be out of a place to live... I'm really getting anxious.

Can anyone advise me on what I should do?

No idea how much rent you pay but getting by on 188 after taking out my rent is do-able for me (just myself.) It's certainly nowhere near easy even if just for myself but it is do-able.
