I NEED COMFORTABLE, PRACTICAL, WEATHER PROOF, WORKING SHOES!

    Hi all,

This probably isn't in the correct place but here goes anyway.

I have BRUTAL feet. Corns, callouses, incredibly high arches, toes with also incredibly high knuckles and I have very soft skin on the backs of my heels. My ankle bones stick out and I have had several broken toes.

I cannot find shoes that I can get from A to B in. I spent ALL of last winter in my fitflops as I simply cannot walk in anything else. I have a couple of pairs of Nike Free runners as I work out alot but I don't want to wear runners into town shopping or when I'm at work.

At this stage I don't really care what they look like, I just need a practical, everyday pair of shoes that will support my feet or even benefit my feet, keep them dry and warm and that will go with leggings, jeans etc.

Any suggestions welcome or a new pair of feet! :D

These have to be the comfortable shoes ever
They're also more or less shower proof

Have you had some Doc's? I'm on my feet every day and there one of the most comfortable type of shoes once broken in.

There must be a style to suit you, http://store.drmartens.co.uk/c-4-womens.aspx China Blue in Temple Bar stock them http://www.chinablueshoes.com/about-us

If you do go for something like the one I posted you can get them much cheaper.
I have 2 pairs and paid about 50 euros for them.

You could try Foot Solutions if there's a branch near you. They have a good selection of comfortable footwear. Tend to be on the expensive side, but you could always try for fit and then order elsewhere on line ;)

They also do customised inserts for shoes, but you tend to find that they don't fit any of the shoes you currently have and you end up buying new - in a larger size! However, if you have 'difficult' feet, it might be worth a try.

I worked for 18 years on my feet in retail and it was only in the latter years I started to wear comfortable shoes. I always used to wear clarks but even some of their shoes were uncomfortable.

Nowadays I tend to wear Merrell footwear, http://www.merrell.com/
mostly runners but there's a few pairs that don't look 'runnery':) and unbelievably comfortable. Schuh have a few pairs of their runners but not many, so I tend to either stock up if I'm in the states (last time I bought 5 pairs) or if my favourites wear out I can get them on Amazon either.

The most comfortable of the lot are the 'encore' clog style, quite ugly but I don't care:D.
