Vapour inside cartomizer / glass tube thing.

    I'm getting vapor trapped inside the glass part of the eGo glass cartomizer thing.

    Is this normal?

    I've also noticed that the metal tube that goes up through the middle (atomizer?) is tilted a bit, so the silicone part at the top is pressed up against the glass. When I screw in the mouthpiece, it doesn't seem to be a perfect fit onto the silicone.

    Is this an easy fix?

    Which version of the clearomizer are you using?

    Same thing happens my uncle quite a lot as he sits on his while it's in his pocket and he's dropped it numerous time.

    He's using the v3, so it's pretty easy to take apart and mend it!

    I'm definitely not using a v1. Could be a v2 or v3. How can I tell?

    Can you take it apart and replace the atomizer head?

    If so, you have the v3, if you take it apart, and on the tube part, there's a metal band around the bottom with threads on it that's press fitted in to the plastic tube, have a look around that and make sure it's all nice and straight, press it down against the table top to make sure it's all aligned properly. That's more than likely your problem.

    Where is he getting V3 in Ireland? Couldnt find the anywhere?

    Right... I managed to fix it a bit.

    Took it apart and found some stray strands of silicon from the o-ring getting in the way of the threads making the tube lopsided when screwed in.

    The mouth piece still doesn't "dock" perfectly with the silicone piece (the bit where the wicks feed into) but it's better than before.

    By the way, what's the difference between the v2 and v3?

    Vaperhead I got mine in a shop in Cork.

    V1 had short wicks
    v2 had long wicks
    v3 has replaceable atomizer heads! :)

    Right I have long wicks, but I still don't know what an atomizer head is. And how can I tell if mine is replaceable? I'm a noob like...

    Well if your tube comes off the base....it's the v3 rebuildable...

    the v1 and v2, the only part you could take off that was the mouth piece!

    the atomiser is what turns the juice into vapour when you press the button.

    I have a v3 so, good stuff!

    So I heard these cartomizers don't last too long. Some folks recommend steeping them in vodka for24hrs. One guy even recommended boiling them in a pot of water, then wrapping them in tin foil and baking them in the oven. Twice. (some vapers are a bit too obsessed I think!)

    I'm guessing that I can avoid all this by just buying one of those atomizers like the one in sept09baby's post?

    The phone shop in Paul Street shopping centre, just by Tesco.

    He sells the basic starter kits, something like this:

    He also sells the ones that look like cigarettes. And some juices.

    His shop is a bleedin mess though. It's kind of hard to see what he has in stock so you'll probably have to ask him!

    For 35e I got the whole kit, including juice.
