    Hi guys.
I know this topic has probably been thrashed to death but I have some questions I'd love to find answers to so your help will be very much appreciated!
    Ok...so heres the set up...
I have an aul archaic tv. Works perfectly so would seem a shame to scrap it. Apt block where I live has a communal dish...sky one I think?
I currently dont have sky as not long after moving into apt but I have a sky+ box from my previous a/c.
Now guys....please bear in mind that I'm a total technophobe when giving your replies!! :D
So...1 of my main questions is...will I need to get an aerial installed?? If so...is there much work involved in this/big job etc? Any idea of what price it may cost??
Also...is there a ball part figure I should be expecting to pay for free to air box, aerial, connection etc?
To all you techies out there this is probably the most jumbled up jargon you've ever read so please be kind in your replies! That is if you can even figure out what I'm askin!! LOL!!
    Cheers xx

Are you currently getting RTE 1, RTE 2, TV3 and TG4?

Some apartment buildings provide a communal aerial for the apartments, check with the building management if they do this.

There is absolutely no extras provided here! Its a self managed small development of 12 apts with many owner occupiers hence the 'no extras'!

I have an ancient tv as u and in an apartment too '(tv works fine though )
Check first if there is a tv socket area in the room u say there is a communal sky dish .
I have one that has my standard tv (analogue ) aerial and connection for sky box .-

mine has sat and tv written on it .

I got an ariva 150 box combo box in soundstore (120) at the time connected it via scart ( old tv may have that check)

There are other combo boxes out there too . It depends what u want saorview has just Irish channels .(if this is your pref prices for those boxes seem to vary from 45-100)
If u want bbc, chanel4,ITV u need the combo to pick up the channels via the sky dish .
Note though some boxes are approved saorview because they were tested under the standard .
The Ariva 150i have is not approved for saorview last time I checked.
Check the forums links on boards I got great advice on this before I took the plunge .
    Good luck
