Anyone have one or did have one in the past? 1.4 petrol?

If so how do you find the fuel economy in general? From looking online im getting different opinions.

    Thanks.

It's just a Ford Fiesta with a high driving position, 1.4 engine is from the Focus, not most fuel efficent in it's class. You will probably find real world mpg figures from here http://www.parkers.co.uk.

had the diesel version and its a great car.
its the car in between the fiesta and the focus.
the diesel is very efficient after driving it for 2 years.
drove over 105k and not a single problem in those two years.
I will say one thing, the roll cage is super strong.

its nice and spacious, has a big boot for a small car,
and loads of leg room in the back.

As already said its basically a Fiesta but bigger and taller. Driving position isn't the best but for those who only pot about the city its grand. Equipment is basic. Nothing special with them really. Regarding the leg room in the back, thats debatable imo.

The 1.4 Ford engine is well know for being under powered but is a work horse at the same time and can easily go on for 100,000 miles if looked after.

The Fusion is only slightly lighter then the mk1 Focus so is does share similar performance but shockingly is claimed to be not as quick as the Focus as stated on parkers. MPG is claimed to be in the low 40s but from driving them I say you'd do well getting mid 30's. Is it manual or auto your looking at ?

This seems very "real world" accurate to me...

The brother had one for a few years - one thing he found useful was the front passenger seat folded down flat, useful for carrying large items that a fiesta-sized car wouldn't normally be able to take (without leaving the lid open!).

I used to own one with 1.4 petrol. Indeed fuel economy is around 40mpg and car is very practical - you can fold seats and load really big items. It also has good clearance underneath, which I guess is good thing if you use it rural areas or you want to drive quick over ramps ;-) Apart from that car is pretty slow, AFAIR it specs is 14secs for 0-100kph for that engine. Overall I liked it, but that is not very exciting car.

Indeed not the best looking car by any means, Quite basic but i like that in a car, Often things are over complicated imo.

Its the manual im looking at, Most probally a petrol the diesels are hard to come by with low miles etc. The general impression is 45mpg or so?

Its the room that I need really and im quite tall so there ideal that way. Ground height is good too.
