    Hi there,

Could anyone recommend a good resource for info on introducing solid food?
Baby is four months old and PHN was to send out a book but never did.

    Thanks

The Complete Baby And Toddler Meal Planner by Annabel Karmel is my weaning bible :-)

This is probably the leaflet the nurse was suppossed to send you.

Really there is no need to buy a book for recipes.
Basically they should have half a teaspoon of one food mixed with some of their normal milk for a few days.
Then introduce another food in the same way. Suggestions:
    Potato
    Butternut squash
    Pumpkin
    Sweet potato
    Carrot
    Avocado
    Banana
    Minced Beef
    Chicken

If you puree one carrot and potato together and freeze it in ice cube trays it will last you weeks as they eat so little.

I like the baby led weaning book- How to teach your baby to love good food, I think it is called. One of the authors is Gill Rapely, not sure of the others name
