How much for my Focus?

    Hi lads,

Decided to signup to Boards (a serious forum) because I have a question or two to ask.

I have my eye on a new car so I want to selling my car privately.

I have a 2004 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi Sport. It is the same as this one but have 117,000 miles on it. The NCT is until February 2014 and taxed until March 2013. It is in very good condition, clean inside and out, drives very smoothly, well looked after and has had two services since I got it. The service history isn't the greatest, I have the log book but it is updated to 2008.

What do people on here think it is worth?

    Any help is welcome.

    Thanks lads.

I beg to differ Colm. Those TDCI Sport models make mental money. I reckon yer man is bang on the money asking €5200.

Is sport a special edition zetec or something? Seems a lot for a TDDI?

That lad must have pulled some kind of stroke when getting it VRTd. The sport is a specific model in its own right and has the TDCI engine with 115bhp. They are effectively the same spec as an ST170 just with the diesel engine so they are a lovely motor. They are like hens teeth this side of the water hence the inflated values.

Are they the right wheels? Don't the st170s have multi spoke wheels?

They are the correct wheels for the diesel, the ST had different wheels yes.

Have to say, I can see why someone would want it, I've never seen one.
I see golf GTTDIs every day (well they have the badges anyway)

They are nice car brother had one too 115ps tdci engine. 17 inch alloys and half leather seats. They were only sold in uk. If that one is a tddi I don't think it's a sport at all. They make good money bro sold his for 7,800 little under 2 years ago.

I'd have thought about 3-4k would be a good price. 8 year old car. Mileage isn't to bad. If it's the same spec as that you'd probably get a premium price off an enthusiast or boy racer.

I'd say on a trade in you'd be lucky to get 2-2.5k but as they say you'll only get what someone is willing to pay and if you're in a rush that may be less than you want.

Stick it up at 5k and test the waters on DD you'll get offers thick and fast time wasters aswell though

I don't think I would get anything near 4-5k for it off a dealer so want to sell it privately.
I love the car, great to drive, comfortable, decent MPG and lovely to look at when it's clean.
I don't see many on Donedeal since I bought it so will have a think about when I sell it.
    I will miss it!!

What are you thinking of replacing it with?

Theres a guy down the road has an immaculate one of these, and young lads regularly try and buy it from him.

These seem to be really sought after.

While i like it id spend 5k elsewhere, but it will generate interest on dd.

Take better pics than the one you link to though.

His ad is poor so will definitely do better than his.

How would I find out what number out of 500 is my car? From the VIN Number?

Just found this about the Sport:
They were originally released as a run of only 2000 cars, available in 5 colours, Panther Black, Magnum Grey, Machine Silver, Ink Blue & Colorado Red. Then Ford decided to release another batch of 500, on 04/54 plates , all in Imperial Blue.

I have a spare set of 17" MP3 that I was gonna paint black and use them as winter wheels but haven't got around to it yet. Might throw them in to the ad aswell.
