I'm looking on ebay for a TV ( LCD/LED) that has Saorview, Is saorview and MPEG4 the same thing ?

Reason for using ebay is i've money in paypal that I want to use to buy one.

The tv will be going into someones house that just uses an aerial to pick up the 4 irish stations.

any help would be great, Thanks.

Yup MPEG4 is saorview but it's not officially saorview approved unless it supports MHEG5 which is really just fancy teletext!

If it has MPEG4 and you just want the 4 Irish it'll work no bother

Best to go the Saorview approved route if you want to be 100% sure.

If buying an non-approved set always check the specs for MPEG-4 video decoding and/or something like H.264 AVC.
