HDMI Audio

    so I bought a 7870 a week ago, it's alright.
The problem I have is my monitor doesn't accept analog audio (3.5mm) with a HDMI connection.
I can't connect it via DVI because that's being used for a monitor without HDMI.
I can't connect a HDMI-to-DVI converter, because in the infinite wisdom of gigabyte, they placed the HDMI port a millimetre from the DVI port.

So, I'm stuck with trying to get sound from the PC to HDMI, until I can go to a two-euro shop and buy a pos 3.5mm speaker or something.

The problem I'm having is the sound is spitting, or intermittent.
Catalyst is 12.8 and the AMD Audio Driver Version is 7.12.0.7708
I set it as the default device abd checked for anything I'd have to connect to the card itself or to the motherboard, but I found nothing.

    Anyone have any ideas?
