Can anyone offer any insight into the above? My laptop screen is cracked, will be ordering a new screen from laptopscreens.ie, are they straight forward enough to replace?

I have a mate who has offered to do it but would like to have a good myself.

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C650D-11E, screen is 15.6'.

    Thanks, Dave

Company mentioned once before on boards
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=70205752

Installation seem to have been easy.

Looks straight forward all right, just be gentle though.

If you are going to do it yourself take out the old screen and order from the screen model number rather than the laptop model number.

    This.

Variations of your laptop model can lead to different types of screens / connectors. Last thing you want is to get a screen in and find out the connection is different.

Followed the instructions from that video last night and was able to remove the current screen. Got the serial number too, thanks again folks.

Just an update, got the new screena and installed it without issue :)

What do I do with the old screen now? Can it be recycled or do I just dump it? Thanks :)

Local recycling centre it goes with the rest of the electronics/electrical stuff.
