AFAIK no chicks were raised this year - most upland raptors and other species had a poor year due to the appalling weather conditions that prevailed over most of the nesting season:(

That's disappointing. Reports from the west of Scotland follow a similiar trend with 18 nesting pairs on the Isle of Skye producing just 5 chicks this year.

Didn't Donegal where the golden eagles are have a good year weather wise compared to the rest of the country.

Thats a good point. Donegal and north west Mayo both had average rainfall for the 3 summer months. Maybe the nests had failed even before the summer started though.

Is the golden eagle trust going to continue introducing golden eagles after they have finished releasing red kites and white tailed eagles?
It seems the golden eagles need alot more help than even the white tailed eagles.
