    Hi Folks,

Just wondering does anybody here do this commute? Or has anybody moved out from the city to Kilcock?

What is the commute like, be it public transport of driving?

    Thanks

Hardly relevant to the OP's question though is it?

The 66 stopped serving Kilcock almost 2 years ago.

A few of my friends are in Kilcock and the commute's about an hour into town. Maynooth is handier as it's got more trains serving it so you but Kilcock has the country town thing going for it plus it has a decent Bus Eireann service. Driving off peak is 40 minutes from the city centre, you can pretty much double that in the mornings.

The 66A has always been the bus to River Forest in Leixlip. All Kilcock trips have been part of the un-affixed route 66; I don't recall that the 66X served Kilcock (I seem to recall that it did not), and since DB changed their robots.txt file, I can no longer look that up on the Wayback Machine.

I share the OP's curiosity, especially regarding the commuter rail service, which is more frequent than the former route 66 service and with just about all trains running non-stop into the city after Maynooth (but nowhere near as frequent as BE route 115, seemingly by design).

I did it Maynooth to Connolly and once you get the express each way it was not a bad commute at all.
I have friends that commute from Kilcock, the trains are not that regular, the commute is expensive but once you do not miss the train they find it fine.

Realise that the queue for O'Connell Bridge starts at Woodies in Lucan.
