    Title is an over reaction.

I need to replace the rear springs in my Citroen C3. Apparently they've gone walkies. How much am I looking at spending, including labour?

I'm missing a few bulbs too, but amn't too worried about the cost of them.

    Cheers

Less work on the rear springs, so lower cost. My E46 cost €150 to supply and fit the pair.

/EDIT Actually, they might have been €180. Ok, can't be 100% but it was €150 or €180, lol, old age and all.

    Springs or shocks?

Fair enough about the shocks and you may or may not have noticed the shocking ride of the car but how in gods name do you go for an NCT missing a rake of bulbs?

What Year/Model is it? Petrol or diesel (not that it matters).

As mickdw said, did you fail for springs or shocks ?

Most Peugeot/Citroens have a torsion bar type setup on the rear axle, and don't actually have "springs" as such. That style rear axle has it's own problems though (the bushings wear out).

Shocks would be a quick and easy change. Any motor factor would give you a price on the parts. Any half competent indy mechanic or apprentice could fit.

It doesn't sound like you're planning of do this yourself?
Take car to 2-3 local garages and get quotes.
Ask if it's cheaper if you supply the parts yourself (usually this isn't ok though, garages want to be able to source parts themselves so they know what they're installing).

are you sure its the springs and not the 'bump stops' 'missing', as these are classified in the rear springs section??

On the Visual/Aural Defects, it says the item is 'Rear Springs', the description is 'bump stop' and the reason is 'missing'.

Again, over reaction on my part. One reverse lamp 'not working or faulty' and one stop lamp 'not working'. Put that down to this being my first car and only being driving 3 months.

Ah.. I see now. As I said above, item = rear springs. description = bump stop. I thought that Bump Stop was the type of test they were doing. And yeah, they're missing.

That's not a big job, they're just lumps of rubber

Yeah, I've since found that out. I'm having difficulty finding track rod ends, though. They're the only things I haven't been able to price so far. Any estimates on how much the parts and labour will cost?

It's both of the front ones.
