Forgiving Wedges

looking for some advice on wedges. I want a decent gap wedge and have tried a few but can't hit them consistently. Have a 52 Vokey at the moment but my pitching wedge and sand wedge are ping g10s which are cavity back. This makes it difficult to get used to the switch to a vokey during a round.

Are there any more forgiving wedges out there that would make the transition easier? I love the wide sole and extra bounce on my sand wedge so something similar but around the 52*loft is what I am looking for.

I use a vokey lob wedge which is fine but at 60* I guess the loft makes it easy to hit anyway.

    Thanks

Hi there, you know you can get a g10 gap wedge don't you? Try the US eBay site, or the worst case scenario pick up a similar spec'ed g20 one.

I don't have the spec to hand but I picked up a G20 Utility Wedge (that's what Ping call a Gap wedge), think it's 50degrees and all good so far, I also have a Vokey 56degree but only use that around the green as I find it great to play from rough

Thanks mrc and slave1, I didn't know that. I asked in McGuirks about such a thing and they said you can only get P and S wedge as part of the set, if you want any other wedge you need to get the anser or tour-s wedge which didn't look much different than the vokey in terms of forgiveness.

I will see if the pro at home can source one for me or try ebay.

    Cheers

That's arse, I got my Ping G20 Utility Wedge from golf247.co.uk, about 10days as I had custom specs

If you take the serial number off one of your clubs to a store that has a Ping account they will be able to order you a gap wedge built to the exact spec as your set.

Found some on golfbidder so I'll try there. I won't need anything custom built though neckedit, not at that level just yet!

    Thanks all!

Its not a custom build as such T, they keep all the spec of the Irons the produce through the serial number, should a player loose a club or want an additional one, like your good self.
