Getting back into it

    Hey,

I have been out of the athletics scene for the past 3 years due to college and damaged ligaments in my ankle. Lately I have been missing it and I am determined to get back into it.

I used to compete in cross country, 3k, 5k and sprinting.
What is the best way to get going again?

Is fartleks the best way to build back up my heart and lungs?
Should I train on grass to start off with or would tarmac be better?

If training on grass should I use spikes or runners?

    Any help is appreciated.
