just some quick notes here.

i actually really like that. Love the colour scheme. Love the spotlight scroller.

Id say if you really progressed and wrote good articles with nice photos regularly it would be great. Photos are all the same at the moment but i assume the plan is to vary them.

Id definitely design a new logo. The first that popped into my mind was the Street king logo. http://www.skenergyshots.com/. Something like that in red, white and blue. Very American. A circular logo. As soon as the first article disappears out of sight, the site has the potential to lose a lot of colour. Logo could be a permanent bit of colour.

Id also like to see it with the header moved down a small bit and the background image wrapped around like at the bottom. Might look a small bit better might not. Judge for yourself.

The logo, I'm working on but drawing a blank. Seeing as the site is mainly ice hockey orientated, I was trying to go somewhere that gave that hockey look, but in a funky way, just haven't been able to come up with anything good yet.

Except for the most recent post, the rest are mainly test posts, just to try iron out any bugs and discrepancies that we may have missed. The aim will be to post regularly with detailed posts and stats, images and video. I don't want it to start looking too cluttered, so kind of wary of overkill. Over the next few days there will be extra pages added on, these are subscription pages though, so won't appear on the main page apart from a click on at the top.

P.S. sorry about the thread title, I posted the thread before reading the charter.

I once went on to a Graphic design forum and made a post with a link to my site with a post saying something along the lines of "just started a new site and im looking for someone to design a logo. I dont have much money as this is a college project. Please PM me if you are interested."

I got about 15 PMs of all prices from 50 to 1500.

1500 was to redisign the site and logo.

I took a chance with the 50 quid guy and asked him to design something up. If i like it ill use it, if not ill still give him the 50 but not use it. He was a student from from the Netherlands. Turned out to be one of the best investments i ever made. Really professional logo. Ive literally made 10s of 1000s off that site over the years. A professional look can make all the difference.

I tried to contact him again about a year ago but he never got back to me. He probably graduated and is making big bucks. No idea. Might be worth a shot if your looking for a designer. You might get a 3rd or 4th year graphic designer who has the skills but not the experience.

Think it was a forum like this but not sure. Just google graphic design forum or whatever.
