For the love of god help me,

I'm back in Dublin after years abroad.
My dress sense is Rebel Jazz musician meets 70s rock.

I can't for the life of me find a decent mans clothes shop anywhere. Don't even mention topman/river island swill. It seems every scummers scrub up, involves blowing their dole in there.

So anywhere in the city sporting decent threads.. I need some heavy vintage wool knits or blazers for the winter months. Keep me warm while I'm sipping a pint and freezing me arse off smoking outside grogans fighting off the beggars.

    Thanks in advance.

Boyers? Not joking surely they'll sell you a tweed jacket/blazers and some jumpers. Also charity shops. Harlequin is most probably where to go if you have a hipster bent.

My dear kerash, thanks for the reply. Harlequins im aware of, considering I drink the black stuff next door. The men's downstairs is actualy quite poor.

Boyers, don't know what that is, but I'll check it out. I'm a stranger in Dublin for fashion.

I can't testify to the specifics of the men's section (it doesn't seem quite as good as the ladies, from a glance) but my favourite vintage shop in Dublin is Siopaella https://www.facebook.com/siopaella

There's also those couple of vintage places next to the Foggy Dew at Central Bank (Dame Street), Flip and something else, my fella's gotten a few jackets and things in there. Then there's the Eager Beaver just slightly further down into Temple Bar, though that's increasingly full of emo tat these days :( Finally there's Lucy's vintage, in the basement below Sé Sí (i.e. just slightly down again from Eager Beaver); again, not sure about men's wear but their ladies' wear is great and super cheap.

Re Boyers, I think kerash may be having a laugh.

My favourites in Dublin are Eager beaver (although you sometimes do just et rubbish, but make sure to go downstairs) in Temple bar, Harlequin on Castle market (round ye corner from Grogans), and the various charity shops around. There's a good run up Camden St, you can get some good stuff in there.

http://www.9crows.com/Items.html brings up a v dodgy looking herbal remedy store ;) but I love the look of http://www.9crowstreet.com :)

Shame they're 'between premises' at the moment, I find with vintage stuff you really have to try on as sizes and styles can vary so much. But sounds like they've got flexible options for that in the meantime - thanks for sharing, and best of luck to your mates!

HarrisonLennon, if you don't find anything amongst the various suggestions there, I'm afraid you might be out of luck in Dublin, but a one-day shopping trip over to London doesn't have to cost much more than 50-60 euro in flights / travel etc. and could be worth it to stock up on a whole new wardrobe, if the mood takes ya.

    Ding,Ding,Ding...

Very nice, I will definetly be spending some cash on that site, the clothes store not the herbal remedies.

    Thanks for the correction,

Oh the mood takes me plenty, I'm a bit of a impulsive rogue, I could decide on a whim to get inked or fly to Sweden on the morn.

But myself and London aren't on speaking terms at the minute.

Not really having a laugh because you might find some woolen garments there made for the older mens market but may be what the op is looking for, it will require a trawl through the rails, if it's how I remember but maybe it has changed since I've been there. http://www.boyers.ie/contact.htm
