I want get a car for parts from uk,essex area .

my car looks like bag of sh1te. id need change all body parts(bumpes, bonet, all doors, 5th door (its hatchback), no remote working, possible problems with gearbox, interior sh1te, donor car has nice alloys too., it is absolutely same car what i have , same year, same engine. ' 98 toyota avensis (ebay - 271054023557 ). it has no road tax. but has mot.

Very hard haggle down the price, but owner would be happy give me away for 550 GBP with fresh 6 month road tax.

I have a chance register car in uk address in relative address(or even on their name) . also possible get short term insurance, actually need just 2 days, to drive over Dublin.

All work i am goin to do myself.

Can i get road tax refund (6 months cost 121 GBP) ?

Also what you suggest... yey .... or ney ...

    Or thats pointless project ?

Seems a bit excessive for a 98 when you take travel and all other costs to mind and poor exchange rate.

Why don't you just vrt the "new" car instead of all the hassle of changing everything over that looks a very nice car for the money.

I was thinking about this, but didnt work out figures yet. any idea how much would be VRT ?

My car has fresh nct, and some new stuf in it. but allways possible take out, and wait, until times come.

    Vrt would be €560

Cost of ferry on top of that of course

    £550 = €680

So car will cost minimum €1240

It doesn't make sense either way. Plenty nice bangeromics cars in Ireland that you can see in an hour.

You could have the parts car delivered for around €350. No VRT.

can you get whole car delivered for that money ?
or you mean all 5 doors, bumpers - in color what im after 3m3, gearbox, keys with ecu , interior , and alloys ?

colm_mcm - ferry liverpool - dublin - 79 GBP, flight to London - around 60 -80, depend of tax and day when goin,

i know i know.... not prospective, my wife just found out.... she goes mental. probably will leave my dreams just as dreams .

I have no money for descent car. in my opinion - that would be .... ermm... that matter of another thread.

Actually , when i got that car, I realized, that was kinda mistake ... for my needs would be perfect toyota picnic 2.0 tdi or petrol, '98, '99 ish within my budget, it still not what i want, but good for family ... though.

    Yes. www.nvd.ie

...but as mentioned above, you might be better off following the 'bangernomics' thread.

I think, they are dealing just with companies, as when trying get a quote, they are looking for company name and vat number .

I have used them before. It's a set price, €250 + VAT to Dublin and €275 to Cork.
