Tuam mart has a great reputation for weanling sales

Sell at the mart with most buyers (ennis) and buy at the mart with least buyers (the other two).

no reports of weanlings but seen cull cow prices from ennis and gort and thought they ok

heard a fairly good trade for export bulls in SMB a couple of weeks ago when other marts were slipping a bit

If the rumours are true, there are certain dealers / agents buying in Sixmilebridge that are,.... shall we say, not buying in other marts.

That new romance wont last forever either I would say, history has a habit of repeating itself ;)

Jd, there are normally a lot of buyers in Gort but the place seems to blow hot and cold. I have been there on nights when Ennis wouldnt have been a patch on it the same day and likewise I have been there on nights when it could be 50e a head back from ennis on the same day. There does be some very nice stock over there though.

Alot of the North Clare crowd are heading to Loughrea rather than Gort.
Some of the regular buyers have yet to make an appearance.
Hope to have a few ready in the next few weeks, so I might follow the crowd:cool:

    Cheers Redz

Having never been in Gort I can't comment. As I work in Ennis I often drop into the mart for a 10min gander. I find the prices to be consistent week on week and there are enough buyers so there is someone for every animal.

My one experience of Sixmilebridge was the one buyer being mentioned had the place to himself. I've heard the same from another lad who took the animals home and got €50 a head more on average the following Tuesday in Ennis.

Everyone involved in the bridge mart seems to know this, which is strange aswell.
