Worried

My friend got in a row over the weekend and i stupidly stepped in and ended up getting arrested and charged with threatning and abusive behaviour. This will be my third time in court, The other two were for drunk and disorderly and failing to comply with directions of a garda I think.

Since my last time being up last year I've really tried to cop on and settle down I have a 3 year old son and I've just recently gotten a full time job. The guards at the station told me they will tell the judge that I was fully co operative and no trouble at all, But I'm just worried as to what I might get. Will it be another fine? Or worse..

I was thinking of maybe taking to €200 with me to court on the day and offering it as a donation.

    Thanks

Best advice is to get a solicitor. He/she will have dealt with many cases like this and will be the best person to advise you. Don't understand how you were fully co-operative if you were charged with Sec 6 Threatening and Abusive behaviour. Perhaps they mean after you were arrested you were co-operative.

He was probably the least nuisance sloppy drunk on the night.

The charge should really be stupidity. How drunk to you have to be, to not realise that when the Garda turn up, that if you stay there and continue to act the maggot, you're looking at a public order charge.

The row was ongoing when the guards arrived, I didn't put up any resistance and took full responsibility for what I was doing. I know what i did was wrong.

I was just wanting to see what to expect when I go to court, Was there a chance of me getting a sentence, No matter how short. I don't want to lose my job.

I think you might also think about giving up drinking if you keep getting into trouble while drinking.

Considering you have a 3yo child you need to grow up and act responsibly.
