My father also has ADHD, but due to the type of job they both do they want no association with mental illnesses.
Well am going to university now and I know I have a problem and I want help, to that I say **** INVISIBLE PRIDE!!.
I know am gonna enjoy my course but because of my dyslexica it wouldn't be easy to control both.

Anyway I heard (Just a flowing Rumor on the internet) in england they can't do anything for adults with adhd (Am 18 now), but in ireland am not sure about their stands on it.

Before I go to uni should I try getting diagnosed or checked out in ireland or sure I wait for free health care and go to england

You shouldn't self-diagnose. Even doctors shouldn't self-diagnose. There have been cases of doctors killing themselves with chemotherapy, for cancer they didn't even have.

Adults are treated for ADHD. It's called Adult ADHD when it's adults.

ADHD is not dyslexia. These things get lumped together and they have no connection with each other, only that they cause children to have learned difficulties.

If you have been able to get through school and into university, without being previously diagnosed as having ADHD or dyslexia, you probably have neither. As it would be unlikely you would have been able to preform very well in school without special assistance. People with ADHD or dyslexia, may be able to get through school. Without assistance, they definitely would not get into university.

Talk to your GP. You can't diagnose yourself or get a diagnosis over the internet. If you did not experience any real problems in childhood, it's unlikely you have ADHD as an adult. Any fuzziness you may be experiencing may just be the typical fuzziness that most people have.

I don't know about Ireland, but I do know in the US, college students have been faking Adult ADHD for years. So, they can get a legal prescription for speed - to use as a performance enhancing drug. Faking dyslexia may be a new cheat too - if it gives them a bump in their exam scores.

Sorry we can give out personal advice on the internet, as suggested the best thing you can do is talk to your GP. Best of luck with it
