How do you start your day ?

At what point do you feel gratitude ?

    How do you reflect ?

Before I go to bed I......

As a Spiritual guy I have my own affirmations and ways of grattitude etc

Oh God I'm back here again :)

My day generally starts with the thought "time to rise and shine to give God glory and honour and praise". A kick back to how my mother used to wake us in the morning!

Say a few prayers while lying in bed, usually an Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory be. Then throughout the day, I fit in a decade of the Chaplet of Mercy wherever I can, and the two Angelusses of course.

I dont always. I know, I know. But I try to. Sometimes though, a sweet moment can surprise you out of nowhere.

I dont really. I just offer everything up to God, the good, the bad, and the stupid. Sometimes after Mass, I stay for a while and quietly thank God for the unpredictable adventure that is life, and ask him for the strength to navigate my course through it according to His will.

Take off me clothes. In bed, I say a few prayers, usually same as morning. I ask for forgiveness for whatever sins I comitted that day, and I try to swallow my own disgruntlement at whatever annoyed me that day.

Pml, it's mostly rushed, and more often than not I rush right into my day, to be honest, I'm mostly up to my knickers with things to do - it took a little time for me to have a unique identity and be comfortable in my own skin, I had such a high regard and still do for other people - that I thought that's where I saw my reflection all on it's own.

I stop now, not at any given intervals, but I do 'consult' with Christ now in mere moments throughout my day - Sometimes the dialogue checks my conscience, and sways my decisions, sometimes it is a comfort, sometimes my heart sings, but he is ever present, even in the times I have felt most lonely, of that presence I am without a doubt, because I've not 'tested' him, but just 'lived' with him for a while. I hope to do so always, he's a good companion, I highly recommend getting to know.

    Say 2 prayers

At what point do you feel gratitude ?
    Most of the day and
    How do you reflect ?

I'm glad I'm not like those strident people :)

I take a personal inventory now and again and when I get annoyed with someone I realize why I should keep the focus on my self, thereby not taking their inventory or thinking I know what they think,or what way they should behave etc
    Leave them off I say

Before I go to bed I......
Thank my HP for the Good day and sleep quite well

I pray this, often. Based on the Lorica or breastplate of St. Patrick, called the Deer's Cry. It was sung by Rita Connolly at the inauguration of Michael D.

I arise today, through the strength of heaven, light of sun, radiance of moon, splendour of fire, speed of lightning, swiftness of wind, depth of sea, stability of earth, firmness of rock.

I arise today, through God's strength to pilot me, God's eye to look before me, God's wisdom to guide me, God's way to lie before me, God's shield to protect me; from all who shall wish me ill afar and anear, alone and in a multitude, against every cruel, merciless power that may oppose my body and soul.

Christ with me. Christ before me. Christ behind me. Christ in me. Christ beneath me. Christ above me. Christ on my right. Christ on my left. Christ when I lie down. Christ when I sit down. Christ when I arise. Christ to shield me. Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me. Christ on the mouth of everyone who speaks of me.

    I arise today ....

I often begin my day with this prayer too, though a slightly different (and shorter!) version...

'I arise today through the power of Heaven with these forces seven
    Light of the blazing sun
    Radiance of the moon
    Splendour of new flames run
    Sweetness of wind's tune
    Deepness of the boundless sea
    The hard earth's stability
Stone fixed eternally, I arise today
Through God's strength to pilot me
    Through the power almighty
    Invoking the Trinity
    Confession of one
    Belief in three
    The Creator of creation'

    Absolutely beautiful prayer...

Lovely prayer SOA. I try to arise and go to early morning Liturgy, then in the evening we pray the Rosary, read scripture and then we retire with act of contrition and as we lay down to sleep ''Into your hands O Lord I commend my soul and my body, do thyself bless me, have mercy on me and grant me life eternal, Amen''

Oh and every now and again I recite an Akathist.

I've never heard of the Akathist but having googled came across a number of them; prayers I've often said myself without knowing they were a specific category of prayer other than being based on the psalms - really the heart's cry and praising in all circumstances, trusting in God's truth and hoping in Him.

    What is an Akathist?
he Akathist Hymn (Ἀκάθιστος Ὕμνος, unseated hymn) is a hymn of Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholic tradition dedicated to a saint, holy event, or one of the persons of the Holy Trinity. The name derives from the fact that during the chanting of the hymn, or sometimes the whole service, the congregation is expected to remain standing in reverence, without sitting down (Ancient Greek ἀ- (a), [without, not] + κάθισις (káthisis), [sitting]), except for the aged or infirm. During Orthodox Christian and Eastern Catholic religious services in general, sitting, standing, bowing and the making of prostrations are set by an intricate set of rules, as well as individual discretion. Only during readings of the Gospel and the singing of Akathists is standing considered mandatory for all. The akathist par excellence is that written in the 6th century to the Theotokos. In its use as part of the service of the Salutations to the Theotokos (used in the Byzantine tradition during Great Lent), it is often known by its Greek or Arabic names, Chairetismoi (Χαιρετισμοί, "Rejoicings") and Madayeh, respectively; in the Slavic tradition it is known as Akafist. The writing of akathists (occasionally spelled acathist) continues today as part of the general composition of an akolouthia, particularly in the Slavic tradition, although not all are widely known nor translated beyond the original language. Reader Isaac E. Lambertsen has done a large amount of translation work, including many different akathists. Most of the newer akathists are pastiche, that is, a generic form imitating the original 6th century akathist to the Theotokos into which a particular saint's name is inserted. In the Greek, Arabic, and Russian Old Rite traditions, the only akathist permitted in formal liturgical use is the original akathist.

It would depend on the akathist you recite. But each Akathist would take the length of Our Ladys Holy Rosary if recited without chanting which would be around 15 - 20 minutes. If chanted it would take 30 minutes.
