Winning Streak comic episode

My title may be a little misleading because I just want you to read this, especially if you have sen winning streak because as you will find I'm pretty bad at trying to describe things. Anyway, I was watching winning streak earlier tonight (15th september) and it can only be described as a lucky episode not for the guy who spun for €100,000 but for RTE.

I only watch this **** for a laugh and people like me and the elderly are clearly the target audience because of how over-the-top **** it is!

The game where contestants choose one of 8 colours (I think), each colour has 3 sums of cash it inside balls. The three balls are put into a machine where only one comes out. And at the end the sum of the 5 balls is divided amongst the 5 players. The safest colour to pick is always the black as the balls are tagged 10,000, 11,000, 12,000 repectively. The scale of safeness gradually falls, and so if you are feeling crazy you can pick red which is €50,000, €0 and €0 (which is clearly a gamble). Anyways, all this is irrelevent, I just wanted to explain the part of the where it happened.

I may be waffling a little. Anyway first the first guy goes safe and picks black...he gets whatever, next woman naturally picks the next safest option and then the show uncharacteristically goes for an ad break. RTE obviously don't want people to know how obviously boring it is so they want people to mix it up, even if they are going to play the 5 safest colours between the 5 of them. Here (during the ads) I wreckon Marty had a word with the contestants, just to say, "here even if you are gonna play it safe the whole way through, at least mix it up a little", show comes back on and the third guy picks the third safest, a bold move by the baldy fella, going against the advice of marty. It was all very animated. The next boring old bitch actually saved them because she picked the fifth safest and the last fella actually went on to stir things up again by picking red and getting zero. Marty and your wan were shocked by the whole thing but it turned out ok for them.

I've tried to explain this as best I as I could, but all I am trying to point out is that the format of winning streak will with no question be needing a re-vamp fairly lively. We all know that's it's been a load of **** ever since it started but there is something sinnister about how brain numbing it is. I'm only 21 and I can picture it being shown to mass crowds of medicated pensioners in old folk homes or skitzos in mental hospitals making them even crazier. There really is no other reason for this, that's not even a joke! If someone else can gimme a reason for it being so bad I'll happily challenge you.

The show is over the top ****, but it's too bad because it would only get replaced by something even ****ter.

Does anyone know or give a **** what I'm talking about because I doubt you do!

The National Lottery regulations state that there must not be any element of skill in any of their games.

They can jazz up all their games with coloured balls and flashy graphics all they like, but it will always be a random guessing game.

The choice between safe and risky balls is about as exciting as it will ever get. I don't know why anyone with a pulse watches it.

Its a lottery (gamble) they still win minimum 20k, not bad for an evenings work.

That post had me in stitches , very true I always turn it on for the laugh as well and I kind of think of it as a look into the past when the Celtic Tiger was around , so you get your 3* and you send off and if your lucky enough you get on the show and bring a little teddy bear your grand kids got you for luck all fun and games but their is more skill in sleeping than there is by these contestants I mean how random could a game be than pick a colour or pick a number and EVERY GAME IS ONE OR THE OTHER , it could be replaced by kids and it would have the foundations for a show for the young ones after the school , I think their main viewers are the over 60's because thats all you see on the show , and I love the way you get all the relatives coming In on the act in the audience I know their game the little money grabbing sh*ts ....But yeah its a joke of a show but funny to take a dig at lol

Ah hey thats not fair the people that are on the show worked hard to buy their €3 ticket! , and the pure skill involved in picking a number between 1 and 5 has me on the edge of my seat every Friday night!

I just wish you people could have seen tonight's show, no one really understands how I meant RTE got lucky.

Is it not repeated some time in the evening tomorrow of during the week? Or would it be cut out ?

I just remembered another shocking moment on the show, you know that part about half way through where some randomer gets to come on and spin a mini wheel? Yeah well some aul wan was on and marty asked her would she like to say hello to her children (standard question really) but she couldn't name one of them, laughed for about 3 hours after it!

and then the show uncharacteristically goes for an ad break.
I could be wrong but I thought that there is always an ad break in the middle of that particular game.

Is all the prize money not paid by The National Lottery and not from RTE coffers.

It's repeated Sunday lunchtime. You'd catch it on RTE +1

It doesn't have to be live for them to ring people.
