A mate of mine uses a 210 1/2 for his springer and I use the same number for the pointer.

Depends how you blow them, I always had springers and always used the 210 1/2, its not to flat and not too sharp. 1 pip to sit/stop, 2 pips change direction, and a long blow to return to heel, I keep it simple.

when i was being shown how to train my first springer i was given an acme 210 whistle with no pea. after about a year the whistle was a bit worse for wear and after the second year it was in bits. as i had trained my dog to the 210 with no pea i wanted to keep to the same pitch. i trawled through ebay for ages but couldn't get one. rang many gun shops but to no avail. 210 have a pea and 210.5 do not.

so thinking i was being lead up the garden path i emailed a guy in acme itself. he replied saying that acme have never produced a 210 without a pea, the whistle i had must have been a defect. . .

@triggerpl. i bought two 210 whistles with peas and i ****ed them both up trying to get the pea out, you must be david blaine to be able to 'push' the peas out of them.

I can confirm this as fact.
Called in to "hunt-easy" and the guy had every type of whistle you could think of and the 210 is the only one that came with a pea(well more like a silver ball bearing actually)
