    Hi folks,

I got the timing belt changed recently on my 01 opel astra. I was having a look at the engine today and noticed the timing belt to the left side.

The question is, should i see the timing belt or should it be covered ? Im begining to think the mechanic forgot to put a cover over the belt/pullies.

i've attached a photo.. any help greatly appreciated.

    cheers

Thats the altenator and belt, your timing belt is hidden behind all those belts. What you see is normal these belts are never covered so your mechanic did a good job

You shouldn't see it. It should be covered.

It's not a timing belt on the photo.

Nope, belt, relatively fond of snapping them too. Opel's fix was to change the interval to 40k miles :) Alfa style :pac:
