ebay question

hi guys bought something off ebay for the first time on thursday.

noirmally buy off amazon.

i was wondering on ebay do you get notifications etc about when order has shipped and tracking numbers etc?
ive received nothing of the sort so far, even though i completed payment on paypal on thursday afternoon.

seller is based in canada but says item is shipped from nepal.

There are icons beside the item listing in eBay, and check to see if this has been marked as dispatched .

Also in Paypal , when the seller enters the tracking info , you will receive an updated email to confirm item dispatched .

It depends entirely on what the seller inputs into the EBay thingy.
As it's dispatched from Nepal, you may not hear anything until you get a call from customs.

is it likely i'll have to pay vat on these?

they are second hand college books which are unavailable to purchase in Ireland.

Yes, not sure about duty, there will also be a handleing charge, €6/€30.
