Can't find gas fireplace switch

    Wondering if anyone can help.
House was built in the 90s. Looking to turn off the gas supply to the fireplace so we can use briquettes instead. We were told there's usually a switch beside the fireplace to turn off the supply but we don't have one. The only switch we have for gas supply that we can find is in the kitchen and that turns the supply off to the whole house.
Is there anything we're missing? Any suggestions would help!

I presume you mean valve rather than switcg , either way you need an rgi to disconnect this as the pipe to the fire will need ti be removed and blanked off outside the fireplace itself , the gas pipework will also need to be tested for soundness ,do not attempt to do this yourself
