Hamachi local access only

    I installed hamachi on my laptop. i can only get local connectivity. Should i be able to connect to web from my laptop through hamachi. I am new at this and just experimenting. Should it be set to private or public.

    You should be able to connect to the web over your internet connection. Not through hamachi as it was never meant for that.

    It has been 3 years since I used it though

    Thanks. i am on a Lan. I installed hamatchi and Privoxy on one PC and hamachi on another as described here. I was able to send instan message encrypted but could not browse the net from the one with just hamatchi

    as i understand it i should be able to do this. i should be able to take a laptop to a public wi fi and connect to my home computer through a vpn and then surf the net from the laptop through my home computer browser
