What a mess

    "We wish to inform students that due to ongoing technical problems at the national provider of IT services to the Institutes publication of repeat exam results are not available today, Friday 14th September 2012.

    This is outside the control of this Institute and we regret the inconvenience caused. We do understand the desire for students to access their repeat results and will continue to post updates via our website, Twitter & Facebook. We will keep students informed and we hope to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
    Once again we apologise for this unfortunate delay."

    Is there any reason why the college doesn't email the results to you?

    Judging by a post on facebook this evening, the system is sorted and the results are online

    They were fierce attacked on Facebook last night over it. Personal attacks on specific people and all. There was deffo no call for that

    The reason they are not generally E-Mailed is that there is no guarentee that you will get the E-Mail. Due to the formatting of the tables and contents they are prime candidates to get caught up in spam or junk filters ( streams of letters and numbers in a table ). Plus we cannot guarentee that all students have activated their E-Mail accounts!

    On this occasion we would not have been able to E-Mail them should we have chosen that option due to the nature of the failure with our service provider.

    It should also be noted that the issue was outside of ITTD - it was with the IoT sector's MIS supplier and ITTD were not the only college having trouble accessing the services.

    If there had have been another way to get them to students it would have been done - contrary to some students belief's staff were in over the days and nights working 24/7 on the issue.

    This problem is being taken extremely seriously and will be dealt with accordingly.
