Hi just interested to see what kinda meals do you guys eat coming up to a game. Maybe the day before or the morning of a match?
I myself Sometimes don't even have breakfast before a game and if I do it's usually toast.
Do you guys have a routine to give you energy or what?
Good to know your thoughts and views

Id usually increase my carb intake the day before a game.

For a saturday game, on a friday for lunch i'd usually have a brown rice dish, with some green veg and chicken in the pub near my office. Not ideal but most convenient.

For dinner i'd normally eat some brown pasta with chicken.

The morning of a game, if it was a 3.00 kick off (soccer game) I normally have a coffee and fruit salad around 9.30 and then at 11.30 some steamed broccoli, asparagus, green beans and a protein shake.

Doing it the last year and a bit and have found a massive increase in my energy levels.

I actually have a match tonight at 8, normally would be at 7 but I find that I'd usually try to just take in carbs in the form of pasta - would have a good breakfast - scrambled eggs and toast.

Take on plenty of water during the day and steer clear of coffee/tea/caffeine basically.

On top of that I'd normally try to have either a very small pasta dish or a bowl of soup and a slice or two of bread about an hour and a half to two hours before I know I'll be hitting the pitch.

Soup is the safer option as it'd be lighter on your stomach and you're not going to feel overly bloated after it.

I'm sure there's better nutritional solutions out there but that's what works for me.
