    Is it possible to just look at your script for a subject and not have it appealed ? I'm curious as to what I got in a couple.

    No, not for Junior Cert..
    At JC, if you appeal, it is sent to be corrected by someone else and you are told if there is a change in grade.

    Loads of guys are planning to get re-checks in my school. They're saying it's €30 and if their grade improves, they get the money back. Is this true?

    I thought it was €32 per subject, but you could be right with €30.
    If the grade changes, the money is refunded.
    It's not certain it will change though.

    I poked around the examinations.ie website and found this;
    What is the appeal fee?
    The appeal fee for Junior Certificate is €32.00 per subject. The fee will be refunded if the outcome of the appeal is that you are awarded a higher grade.

    The appeal has to go through the school - its not the same as the Leaving Cert where the candidate fills in a form and appeals what they want - the school has to request the appeal for the Junior Cert on the basis the result was below what was expected going on past results - €32 per subject and only refundable where the appeal is successful.
