Question about duvet sets and hygiene..?

This may be a silly question but I thought I'd ask anyway!

I have a neutral coloured room and have many different coloured duvet sets because any colour matches my wall.

Recently I stayed in a friend's house and her room was beautiful, she had cream walls and a lovely purple flower design on the wall over her bed which matched the exact design on her bed set, cream with purple flowers.

I really liked this idea but I couldn't help but wonder how would this work in terms of hygiene... would you continuously use this duvet set and just wash it when needed....?

Again, not sure how silly this question sounds but I've been thinking about it ever since I saw this beautifully co-ordinated room!

    Thanks in advance :)

I have a deep red/wine carpet and cream walls in my bedroom and match the bed clothes to go with these. I have about 5 different sets that all match this colour scheme. Your friend is probably the same. Just because you saw one set, doesnt mean they dont have other sets that match too.

Is it not difficult to find sets that match the exact colour scheme?

Not really. There are so many places out there to get nice duvet sets that you're bound to pick up a few the same colour scheme. I guess it depends on the colour tho. I havent seen too many orange duvet sets :)

In some places you can buy a whole room ie. wallpaper, bedsets, pictures, curtains....

2 of the same bedsets and change them every 2-3 days and wash them.

Homestore & More are good for half price duvet sets.

    Brilliant, thanks!
Decided to completely redecorate my room so these tips are great.
I just moved into a new house a few months ago and my room is just an awful colour. Green carpet and dark green curtains.. disgusting. I need to change the carpet but I'm working on a budget, it's so expensive to get new carpet. Looking into carpet dye as an alternative but I just don't see that working..

Decorating just isn't my thing :/

Buy cheap readymade curtains in a lighter colour if that's your thing. They aren't very expensive, and if you're based in Dublin you can pick them up in Ikea for under €40.

If there are floorboards under the carpet, pull up the carpet, sand down the boards and varnish them. Will do the job until you decide if you want another carpet.

90 x 90 and 90 x 72 inch fully lined eyelet curtains in Penneys and Homestore & More for under 20 euro a pair.

Lots of colours to choose from.:)

I was thinking about pulling up the carpet but I think there's just a spongey textured floor underneath and that won't do.. it's just annoying not being able to make my room as cozy as I'd like. Well, I could, just can't really afford it :/

Thanks for the tips on the curtains :)

Hi Klurton - you could try lino instead of carpet? There is a shop in Artane near the shopping centre that sell off-cuts of lino for great prices - you can get all sorts of effects. And you could throw down a nice rug on top! Cheap and cheerful...
