Think they said they train early Friday mornings. You can still join up online I think, but google them anyway and get some sort of an email address?

I joined last year. They train far more than Friday mornings, they often train weekends and evenings during the week as well. It's a lot of commitment - I enjoyed it but found I couldn't do much else so I didn't continue with it second semester. But if you feel you can commit to it, then go for it.

Thanks for the input, were you a complete beginner when you started?

To the type of rowing they do in the college, yes. I've done coastal rowing which I didn't realise was that different to the type they do in NUIG so I had to relearn rowing in some sense. So I pretty much was I guess, I trained with all the beginners!

I spotted the "rowing" in the title and then read your username as CoxRockMySox or somesuch. I'm disappointed now.

Same. Really wanted to do it this year but haven't heard a thing. I've seen ppl out on the water all this week so I assume they are already training?

    Hey guys,

Pretty strange request (not about NUIG RC) but hopefully you can help me! Sorry Mods, can't find anywhere else to post this that will give a straight, reliable answer.
I'm heading to uni in Wales (Aberystwyth) this September. I know they have a coastal rowing club, but I've rowed 4+ for a while now and hoped to stick to river rowing.

Anyone in your RC know of any river clubs in that area?? And any opinion on what coastal rowing might be like?

    Thanks!
