I'm sure this has been done before but i'm looking to see which mode of transport you would get. I got Matthews coaches last year for the commute (I'm going to DIT Kevin street). This year I'm thinking of using the train(Clarke to Tara). I'd be getting the 7 or 7.10 up and then one of the later evening ones home, 18.37 maybe.

Looking to hear the pros and cons, and which is the lesser of the two evils!?

It seems the train is working out a bit cheaper at €196.50 for a student monthly ticket.

you might be better living in Dublin during the week imo, at a guestimate you're only getting home at approx 8:30 each night, and then back up at 6ish the next morning, you'll soon find yourself completely exhausted.

It is. I thought there'd be a lot more Dundalk-Dublin commuters on here.. I'll just have to try the train out myself.

I've been getting the 7.10 train into work for the past few months. In general,it tends to be on time most of the time, odd hiccup here and there on the odd morning.Providing your starting at 9 each day, then the 7.10 train would be your best bet.Would Pearse station be closer to Kevin St though?
Usually get the 5.55 Pearse to Dundalk back, again providing what time your fininshed at,the 4.50 enterprise would be a great option, goes nonstop from Connolly to Dundalk in under an hour. 5.15 is ok,don't expect a seat from Tara street though, you'll be standing until probably Skerries so if you can try and go to Pearse. It won't cost you any more money.

The 27 would get him over to Kevin Street from Connolly.

Thanks guys, they are much for muchness distance wise, by Google maps pedometer anyway. Good advice with the Pearse street, would hate to be standing! I will finish at 5 most days so I might be pushed to get the 5.15, I really don't mind waiting until a later train if I'd be guaranteed a seat and a bit more comfort! I'll have a fair bit of work to keep me going until the 6.37 anyway!
