Getting my heating system redesigned

    Hi,

    I have a heating system that two plumbers have tried and failed to get working correctly. Rather than take a chance on another plumber who might take the easy way out as the others did I'd like to have someone look at it who will redesign it in such a way that all the issues are sorted out. I think that I saw a post before that talked about heating engineers that did only design but the only ones that I can find appear to be people who do installations also. I know this approach will cost a bit more but I'm hoping to get it right for once and for all.

    My system shouldn't be overly complicated (solid fuel range & separate oil fired burner) but two guys have tried, charged and hidden when the flaws in their attempts became apparent.

    Can anyone point me in the direction of an association of heating system designers or equivalent?

    I'm in Kildare BTW.

    You will certainly find it very difficult to find a designer only. With solid fuel combined with another fuel source, in my experience, most are installed incorrectly. Unless certain parameters are within the installation, it will always be difficult to achieve a fully functioning and safe system. It can be achieved but the layout of your home will be factor. Being able to recognise these factor is beyond many. Why, I do not know because it is a major part of everyone's training but many seem to have left their knowledge gained in college at the gates of the Celtic tiger era!
