like the exposure comp -5 / +5 EV would make for good bracketing
    can shoot 60fps video..
like how it can take two sd cards. though i have bad luck with sd :(

nice camera! i'm aware that some cameras already do this, but these are features not even seen on my 5d2 which cost a lot more.

If Conns are doing it for €2300 its a safe bet it'll be found for in or around €1800 online or in the UK. Its like the Canon 5D mkIII, the price has been dropping everywhere and can now be found pretty easily for €2700 (800 cheaper then launch price) yet Conns have only recently dropped it to €3399. I know they make little enough mark up on the cameras but at that much of a saving its no wonder more people are shopping online.

Anyway back on topic. I must say this looks like a fantastic camera. Its a great price too if you ask me. For what it does compared to significantly more expensive cameras thats not a bad price at all. If I wasnt so heavily invested in Canon Id be giving this camera some serious thought.

£1955 in the UK which is about €2400, which is even more expensive
    $2100 in the US = €1600, which isn't a bad price

Just seen this on the Engadget article. Harsh! (VAT rates im assuming?)
Turns out that 2,385 Euros was actually specific to the Republic of Ireland. More generally in Europe, 2,150 Euros is the appropriate figure. The UK price is £1,956.

You're always taking a risk buying it from the US. You may get caught a customs and have to pay 3% import duty and then 23% VAT, which might still be cheaper but you're left with a US only warranty which could end up costing you even more in the long run.

There's no import duty on digital cameras or lenses... but everything gets caught for VAT these days. Wouldn't surprise me if they've been told to crack down.

Are there anymore Nikon Cameras due out at Photokina - im just about to buy the Canon 650d today, was just holding off to see if there was a D5200 or D400 to be released.. doesn't look like it at this stage?

    Anyone in the know?

    Thanks...

I wouldn't say so, the D5100 was only released last year. This year we have seen the release of the D3200, D800, D600 & D4. DSLRs typically have a 2-3 year product life cycle. The next up for replacement is the D7000 but it will likely be next year. The only other likely possibility we might see this year is the V2 Mirrorless.
