    I'd be dubious - they may prevent cuts and bruises but they can't provide much in the way of support and cushioning. I could not imagine walking more then a few miles in these without proper boots. As for wearing them with proper boots, they sound a little bit like overkill.

    I suspect they would be more useful for the barefoot runner then the hiker.

    I'd love to see if anybodys actually tried them,
    I am wondering if their in anyway waterproof also...
