Repeating First Year: Financial Questions

    Hey everyone,
Repeat exams were very close to going well for me, but no dice. Failed one of my 10 credit modules (a core one, Programming 2) and have to repeat the year. I basically have a few questions.
Is it possible to pay fees during the Christmas break instead of within the next month? It would make life a little easier, and allow me to get together my own money to pay for it, rather than borrowing it from elsewhere.
Secondly, am I counted as a part-time or full-time student? This is important more so for my mother, as if I count as a full-time student, she will receive a lone parent benefit.
Last question I have right now sort of depends on my second question, is it possible to draw the dole during semester one, as I will not be attending college?

Any insight would be highly appreciated.

I only know the answer to the last question and it's a no. As long as you're registered as a student, you can't get any dole. It works on the same priniciple as why we can't get dole if we're unemployed during the Summer even though we're not in college.

Ring the registry and fees office and ask them how and when you should pay your fees, are you full-time/part-time etc.

    registry: (01) 700 5338
    fees office: (01) 700 8836

Thanks guys. Emailed fees as suggested and got this reply:
I'm afraid repeat student must register early next month regardless of which Semester the module is in and the fees must be paid when registering.

Oh well. We'll sort something out. The Education Officer from the SU said I was still considered a full time student, so going to bring the form into Registry and see what I can do for the mother.
    Thanks guys :)

hi just wondering if the €250 levy fee must be paid on all modules I am repeating. I failed 2 modules and it would cost a lot less if I don't have to pay the levy fee on them both.
