I don't if anyone would be willing to take the time to answer any questions, but do you think it would be possible for us less knowledgeable folk to posts question in this thread to be answered by the experts?

I be reading through a thread and want to ask questions related to something happening in a chart posted, but don't want to go off topic as such.

E.G. In the picture below TS / Hurricane Nadine is more or less doing a u-turn and heading in the opposite direction it formed, where as Hurricane Isaac headed more or less "straight" towards the Gulf of Mexico?

Nadine is forecast to make that motion because it will be turning around the edge of a ridge.

If high pressure extends all the way over the Atlantic then a tropical cyclone will usually keep moving west unless there is a weakness or gap that would allow it to turn north.
