New Seat Toledo

Looks like Seat are reintroducing the Toledo as a conventional saloon after the less than successful booted MPV version and rebadged 10 year old Audi A4 they called the Exeo.

Interior quality is a massive improvement on previous Seats but maybe it's just the photos but the car looks a bit on the tall and narrow side to me. Interesting in that it is built on a stretched Polo platform similar to the Skoda Rapid rather than the previously used Jetta/Golf platform which would suggest it a successor to the Cordoba rather than the old Toledo.

I think it will sell well here.

    Wow.

Yeah it's the same car, only different badges.

Note that although it looks like a saloon, it is actually a hatchback, so it remains to be seen how successful it will be in saloon loving Ireland.

Yep, it's a Rapid alright. The Seat lines look better proportioned than the Rapid though imo.

Such a Jetta lookalike. Will sell better than the Exeo though, isn't saying much really. The mk2 Toledo was a very nice looking car in comparison to this lazy styling VW/Seat and Skoda are now sharing.

In fairness it wouldn't be too difficult to sell better than the Exeo.

At least the new Leon looks decent:

Definitely true but in saying that a friend of mine has one and is alright up close in person but just nothing stands out about it at all, just that the grill is god awful

I think he is referring to the Exeo, Colm.

The exeo is just all wrong. They only had to change the lights, and they made a bags of that.

Would still nearly buy one if they were cheap enough, but they haven't dropped enough IMO

    +1 on that.

They made a total balls up of the front end of the car. And still too expensive to warrant buying one.

Pity it's lost the independent rear suspension for the poverty spec models, and I thought Seat were supposed to be VW's "sporty" brand:rolleyes::confused:?

I don't get it? Surely the main target market of the basic engines won't notice the difference? Plenty of basic everyday hacks going around the country with a solid beam on the back and the owners don't seem to mind.

Yep, there's a strong element of truth to that in fairness. They may as well save the money.
On a separate note, Seat really are doing nothing for themselves. Skoda managed to turn the company around, VW boss is always locking horns with Fiat boss by making statements that he's going to buy Alfa, Fiat boss is correct in replying to him "you should take a second look at Seat first and see if you can do something with that, seeing as you said in the past Seat is VW's Alfa, before you bother trying to actually buy Alfa".
