Do you need to be Irish to be a Gardai?

    Hello - I have 2 questions and would really appreciate if someone could answer them! :)

    1) Do you need to be Irish to be a Gardai?
    2) Do you need a third language (eg. German,French)
    Or would Irish and English Suffice.

    Please don't link me to the Gardai website, I'm very confused and would like if someone could just tell me. Thanks :D

    1) No
    2) No, Irish and English will suffice
