I'm after changing out the middle brake light on the car. The bulb that came out was 12V W16W. Got a replacement in halfords for a hefty sum but i dropped it under the parcel shelf trying to change it.

Anyways, went to a local motor factors who looked at me like id two heads when i asked them for a bulb of that code. Id most unfortunately thrown the old one in the bin after a got the halfords one. They ended up giving me a 12V 21CP which looked the exact same. Got it in & for all intensive purposes looks to have done the job.

Can anyone here tell me for definate what the wattage of a 12V 21CP is though? Both 18W and 16W pop up on a google search.

EDIT: looks like cp probably means candlepower, which it seems doesnt convert to watts......

EDIT 2: found two sites with discussions about this. In both someone mentions that W16W is 21CP. Happy days.
