Mus the contract be less than a certain number of hours to allow you to continue to claim jobseekers benefit?

Example, if offered 10 hour contract would the benefit be stopped?

well it must not run into a 4th day anyway so with 10 hrs its unlikely to get that covered in 3 days
i got screwed caught once with a 5 hour contract that ran over into the summer months (rest of contract was sub work that finished in may) - anyhow because these 5 hrs ran into a 4th day (by 1 class period) i couldn't claim any JSB during the summer .... big bummer
if it is just over 3 days you will need to submit payslips and a certain amt (not sure how much exactly) will be subtracted from your JSB claim
    hope this helps

As far as I am aware there is a different type of benefit you can claim. I was at one of these courses that they are rolling out if you have been on the dole for x many months. I think they said that if you worked less than 24 hours a week, you were entitled to claim the benefit. Can't exactly remember what they called the benefit but it might be worth asking in the dole office about it.

They did however say that they might have to change this as there were many teachers who were availing of it and were getting paid for part time hours
