How are you watching Game of Thrones?

Given the infamous meme, I'm kinda curious as to what the breakdown is for members here.

Has anyone subscribed to Sky just to get their Atlantic channel specifically to watch GOT? Did you have Sky already? Are you watching online/downloading the series? Or are you buying the box-sets as soon as they're available?

(I know multiple options may be true e.g. torrenting the episodes on airing date and buying the boxsets later but I'm curious as to how people first see the series).

Please don't add / ask for links to torrents or streaming sites. Google can afford the lawyers, Boards.ie not so much! ;)

Seen the initial episode when Sky Atlantic repeated it a couple of months back but never set the planner to record the following episodes. Downloaded the first two series shortly after and watched them over a week or two. When the 3rd series comes out I will probably wait until it gets to about the eighth or ninth episode and download all the previous one before watching them in the lead up to the season finale. I find that watching them over a shorter amount of time keeps me more involved in the show and keep tabs on everything which happens than waiting a week between episodes.

If you can watch it legally then please do so... Quality tv should be supported.

These shows won't get made anymore if people begin avoiding the box and choose to torrent or stream illegally instead.

First few votes would certainly suggest that my initial hunch was right: HBO are losing a fortune by not providing Game of Thrones to the market in a reasonable fashion...

I agree, when a TV show like this comes along it should be supported but HBO really should have the boxsets ready to go shortly after the series has ended and capitalise on it rather than waiting almost a year before releasing them.

I download/stream it immediately and then buy the DVDs as well. I don't have a telly so the other two aren't an option.

I started late so bought the box set for season 1 and streamed season 2 (on Sky Anytime) up to episode 7 where I started watching on TV

The real problem for me is that I get my broadband as well as my TV from UPC. I'd acknowedge that Sky offer the better TV setup but their "broadband offering" is basically Eircom which is crap. To get broadband from UPC and television from Sky would cost a small fortune.

If Sky start to offer anything akin to UPC's €50/€60 a month options for TV/Broadband combined that includes Sky Atlantic and quality 25mb broadband that doesn't result in me having to pay Eircom a line rental charge I'll sign up instantly. For now, however, I'll stay a UPC customer and torrent the content Sky won't release to UPC.

I've bought all the books and will probably buy the Bluray boxets whenever I can upgrade my TV/DVD player but with DVD becoming redundant so soon, I couldn't justify buying the DVD boxsets.

With it on SKY ONE now a lot more people will hopefully see it.

Watch most shows on Sky now since I got the HD package over a year ago.

So GoT was watched and will continue to be watched on Sky Atlantic in my house.

Previously I used to download shows, but since getting Sky HD, and more recently Netflix, I seem to be operating 100% legally.

I watch it on Sky, also download it, bought the blu-ray and bought and read all the books!

GOT was the most illegally downloaded show of last year!

Most of my tv shows are downloaded these days. In an apartment and unfortunately cannot get sky in.

It is rather handy though having X amount of episodes lined up ready to watch in a shorter space, as mentioned above, it keeps you more involved.

Watching it for the first time on Sky 1 on UPC. Don't have Sky Atlantic. Have read book 1 just this yr.

I streamed it the first time I watched the first series, then bought it on DVD. But that was out of necessity rather than refusing to pay to see it really. At least with it now on Sky Atlantic that won't be a problem. How long of a gap is there between an episode premiering in America and appearing on Sky?

Heard about it so ordered Sky, watched the first season on skyplayer just before second season started. Have all of second season recorded, and am now recording first season again so I can watch in the run up to 31st March 2013. Also bought all the books so am making my way through them!

I download it although I have sky. I download it as I like to keep shows on storage and I want to watch it when I want to.

Downloaded it first, whenever it came out but bought the DVD. Well the first season anyway, second season doesn't look to be coming out until 2013 which just seems crazy. I think the same point was made for the last season but surely it would be best to get it to market in time for christmas?

Have had Sky for years. Reckon I may splash out on the HD package before the next season.
