Does anyone know where I could buy good chorizo in Galway city, you can get some in tescos but it's not great. Would love to buy something you would get at restaurant quality! Food, restaurant, cooking,

Aldi does nice Chorizo, too. Choice of mild and spicy.

I had Aldi chorizo in a stir fry yesterday. It was beautiful.

I could still smell it when I lifted the sheets this morning.

Sheridans does several types of sausage like that. So does McCambridges.
I think Sheridans may be better though.
That's at the bottom of the lane next to St Nicholas' Church, where the market is normally held at the weekend if you don't know it.

Both of those shops also do great cheeses btw

Personally wasn't fond of the Aldi variety. I find Tesco's "finest" offering good and Sheridans in town do a great Irish (Gubeen) chorizo but a little pricier.

Centra and Aldi have Chorizo that I found nice. Aldi would be my preference though.

Just trying to remember the name of the pieminister pie that McCambridge's sells that has Chorizo in. Also got beef & butterbeans in.

Right, found the website for pieminister and it's the Matador pie
    http://www.pieminister.co.uk/pies/pm-range/

Though i don't think I noticed the Chorizo on first try but did the 2nd time I had one.

do they sell them hot over the counter or cold, cook at home yourself?
If hot, how much and are they nice?

    I'm hungry. ;)

McCambridge's sells them hot for €4.50 but they change what they have in all the time. On saying that I'm wondering if they also sell cold ones since they're made by a UK firm as I only found out on looking up that website.
I think the stalls selling pieminister during the Volvo Ocean races were selling cold ones to take home for preparing as well as the hot ones so I assume McCambridges might too.

Think I've liked all the range I've tried & I've had 4 or 5 different ones.

The saturday market has a stand that sells olives etc.

    Just by the crepe stand.

They are the only place where I've seen acorn fed chorizo and it is divine.

Maybe I'm totally wrong but I found the Chorizo in Dunnes (The full one/not cut into slices (that one in manky)) to be the best. Really spicy and fantastic in any pasta. or when cooked in Cider mmmmm.

I bought chorizo in Sheridans today thank you for the suggestion, made chicken and chorizo jambalaya and it was lovely! The chorizo wasn't tough at all which was a change to tescos! I could tell while I was slicing it! I'm going to try all suggestions where to buy it and see which is the best! So far so good!

I've changed my mind on the Aldi one and agree with a previous poster, the Dunnes one is better.

I know this post Is on chorizo. But has anyone ever tried Morcilla de ronda. Holy sh*t. It beats Irish black pudding hands down. Just a question????
